I am in the same boat, though only home for a month. I think between the time out and a new passport it should help. I am about to go get a new one for myself today (in Canada). I think I just searched this last minute to save myself $200 and talk myself out of it 🤣. But I will get one anyway even though it still might be linked in the computer, I think just having a clean slate, and not a cluster of stamps through a passport would be visually less dodgy to the IO.
