Hi I just did the 90 day notification online. It simply said sucess and I received an auto-email with the form as a pdf file. Does that mean it’s done? Since it’s my first time I’m quite confused why it worked.
I have a general question about using agencies for your Visa needs instead of doing it yourself? I see a lot of posts on this board saying that once you use an agency, they lock you into using them in the future. I was hoping to gain insight on what this means? I understand that if you go to them for one item, they may sell you a whole package to say get a retirement visa extension, bank open, open, etc. However, if you do an initial package with them, are you required to use them annually and will anything bad happen if you choose to do your renewals at immigration on your own in the future? I don’t understand when people say that you are ‘locked in’ into using an agent in perpetuity unless something sketchy is going on? Any insight?
DTV Visa Approved with London Embassy for a Landlord
I own 2 properties in the UK which I rent out, both owned in my personal name (not a limited company). When researching, I found there were some limited company landlords that had success with writing a letter signed on behalf of the limited company confirming ability to work remotely but obviously I could not do this. However, I use a letting agent to manage the properties and asked them to provide a letter explaining that I was able to carry out all of my duties as a landlord remotely (as I have done in the past). I also supplied a copy of the management contract between me and the letting agent, the tenancy agreements, 3 months rental statements from the letting agent and 3 months bank statements showing the rent coming in, along with all of the other standard application requirements.
This group has been a great help to me, thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences. I hope this helps someone else in a similar position!
Hello. On December 15. I have been in Thailand for 90 days. 2 months on arrival card and one month extension. That’s why I am taking a vacation to the Philippines dec 14. But with the new boarder run rules I am afraid to get rejected when I try to re enter the country. As I have understood it. I can only be in the country of 90 days a year without long term visa such as DTV. Have anyone recently tried to re enter Thailand after a 90 day period with just arrival visa?
If I try to come back to Thailand dec 26, will that be a risk? Should I wait to January, so that hopefully i can get 90 more days since it’s a new year?
Sorry that it’s not a direct DTV question. You can delete it you want.
Hi, I applied for my 90-day report online, but it was rejected one day before the due date. I then went to immigration, and they told me to transfer my visa from my old passport to my new one first (since I had recently renewed my passport). It took me two days to complete all the required documents because I also needed a letter from my embassy. Yesterday, I finally went to transfer my visa, and I asked the 90-day counter to give me a token — even if it was the last one — so I could complete my 90-day report after the visa transfer. However, they told me to finish the transfer process first. I completed it around 5:30 p.m. Now my question is: will I be fined since it’s already been five days past the 90-day reporting deadline?
Hey guys. I want to open a Thai bank account. Can anyone give me advice on what bank to choose. And I also seen something in here about them shutting down accounts is that true if so how do I avoid that happening ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
Just read this and thought useful for some who deal with Bangkok Bank
Bangkok bank told us that since 1 July, they require you to have the money in your account for 4 months (!!), before they can issue a letter that confirms proof of funds for various visas. And if you do not meet this 4 month requirement, they will lock the funds in your account for an additional 4 months, before you can access it; while giving you the right papers that you need for immigration (proof of funds for 2 months). Its not an immigration or visa requirement, but rather a banking requirement to deter money laundering and people using agents (that is what they told us)
