thanks! I went to renew my passport today but was told that the process now takes 11 weeks! Up from the 4 weeks it was recently. VFS also weren’t sure if I would still be able to use my passport to extend again when my current extension expires.

I need to find out from Thai immigration/British consulate first if it’s still possible to extend again while my passport is in the renewal process.

thanks! I have exactly 2 blank pages left and the passport renewal process takes longer than the COVID extension lasts from start to finish.

I’m planning to apply for it in-country as I am currently in Thailand on the COVID-extension from a visa exempt.

The U.K. authorities indeed no longer issue letters and it says as much on their website. I am also British and the two times that I have applied for the 60 COVID extension I did not have to provide any evidence of this (at MTT so Udon may be different). However if it helps you can print out the page stating this on the U.K. government site and present it to your immigration office if they ask.

the British embassy state on their website that they no longer issue letters as of 26 September.

Has anyone applied for this at MTT? If so, did you have to make an online appointment first for Counter K, or was it a different counter?
