Hi all, my non-o visa for marriage to a Thai is due to expire mid-July. Can anyone advise me on the process of extending/renewing it?

I have the checklist of documents from last time but is it like before where you get 90-days which is extended to the full year or is it just a full-on one year extension?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your NON-O visa based on marriage, you should visit your local Thai Immigration office to obtain the specific requirements for the one-year extension. It's recommended to apply no earlier than 30 to 45 days before your current visa expires. There are no detriments mentioned for applying closer to the expiration date, provided you have all required documents prepared.

! It says to apply no earlier than

days before expiry, I guess that depends on the immigration office? It’s Bangkok for me. Provided I have all the required docs confirmed, is there any detriment to applying closer to the expiry date?

In Bangkok you can apply when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp

There is no down side to applying early as you don't lose any days applying early because your extension is added to the current expiration date.

you can apply right up until the day your current stamp runs out, BUT don't cut it too close because if you get out there and are missing a document or something you run the risk of overstaying until you sort it out.

Also IF you are using banked money method remember the seasoning of the funds is 2 months from the date you APPLY for your extension not from when your current stamp runs out

First thing you do is visit your local Thai Immigration office and ask them for their list of requirements for the one year extension as Married to Thai.

Then fulfill them and you will have your one year extension.

This graphic is similar to the list required...

you need to go to your immigration office well before your expiration date and get the hand out listing the actual requirements for that office
