When I was testing it out last week, when I selected UK and UK (passport, and current permenant residence), it listed the Embassy in london. When I did UK and USA, it listed several in the big cities (Chicago, etc). When I listed places like Malaysia, British OTs, India as tests, it would not let me proceed. I took that as there was an element of "going in for an interview" or something.
I just know that even though I have a UK passport, I will not be in London OR the USA anytime soon.
BTW, the online process is still not fully online. You can apply online, but you still need to go to the London Embassy/consulate in person with your passport. (As of about a week ago.)
Yup. 30 day exempt, then 30 day extension. Max 60 days. You will need to leave the country before the 60th day. Then you should be able to come back and do it again. Extension costs 1900B.
It depends on the airline really. I have been asked several times for the return ticket. Book a flight To Cambodia. Nice country. You might even take the 4 day trip. 😁
, I would think if you mention retirement visa, this will speed up your search. Also, it helps if you can go with a Thai partner (But I don't think this is the case for you). Also, the bank will check your passport for visa etc. But it also helps if they can see that you come to Thailand frequently. If buying the insurance helps to speed up the search, no harm in taking it. Some banks are more amenable than others. Search this group, there have been many discussions on people's experiences.
Just curious. It is my understanding that you can get the 60 day visa in most countries with a Thai Consulate or embassy. Which country were you trying to get it from?
