TLDR : Answer Summary
A G7 Canadian passport holder can cross into Malaysia via land and return to Thailand on the same day to receive a 45-day visa exemption. Several comments confirm this process, indicating that crossing the Malaysian border allows for a visa exemption period of up to 90 days. Additionally, there was some discussion about the meaning of a G7 Canadian passport, but ultimately it does not affect the ability to enter Thailand.

What possible significance do you think Canada being in the G7 has on entering Thailand? It's like saying you have a NATO Canadian passport.

Was G8 but then someone was naughty and started a war, so it’s back to G7 again.

No problem to cross into Malaysia (where you can then stay 90 days) or return and receive the 45 day visa exemption.

I have no idea what a G7 Canadian passport is but with a normal Canadian passport you can cross the Malaysian land border.
