I may be going back to Thailand for 10 weeks. What would I need to do? I'm thinking about leaving on January 6th and departing back around March 12th. I live in Los Angeles.
I was there on a one-year ED visa before but I forgot the process for going there on a short-term stay.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are planning a 10-week stay in Thailand, you have a couple of visa options. A 60-day tourist visa can be obtained, which is extendable by an additional 30 days once in Thailand. Alternatively, as a US passport holder, you may enter Thailand visa-exempt for 45 days, which can also be extended for 30 days at immigration, totaling 75 days. This option may cover your intended stay.
A visa-exempt entry (where you just show up without any visa) currently gives 45 days entry for US passport holders, which can then be extended for 30 days at immigration offices once in the country. This gives 75 days, which will cover the period you are staying.
there is no 45 day visa. If you just show up in Thailand with your passport,, US passport holders are among the nationalities that qualify for visa exempt entry, meaning you are exempt from needing a visa and are simply stamped in for 45 days. This is NOT A 45 day visa. You are admitted for 45 days despite not having a visa because you are qualified to be exempt from needing one.
