Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DTV (Soft Power – Muay Thai) in a couple of months once I have my bank statements ready.

Right now I’ve just finished my 60-day tourist visa and have received the 30-day extension. My plan is to leave Thailand for a short trip to Malaysia and then return hoping to get another 60-day visa exemption.

After that stay, once my bank statements reach the 3-month requirement, I plan to leave Thailand again and go to Vietnam (most likely Hanoi) to apply for the DTV Soft Power Muay Thai visa from there.

I have two questions:

Will there be any issue if my stay in Malaysia is only short (for example a few days) before returning to Thailand to get another 60-day visa exemption?

For the DTV financial requirement, do I need to show that the 500,000 baht has been in my account for the full 3 months, or do I just need to provide 3 months of bank statements with my name on the account and a final balance of at least 500,000 baht?

I’ve had a quick scroll through the group but can’t seem to find a direct answer to these questions. If anyone has had previous experience with this, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi! I live in Thailand and currently I've only 1 visa run this year and 1 last year on my passport. I'm about to travel to 🇲🇾Malasya from South of Thailand to apply for DTV soft power (gym/Muay thai)(letter from them for 6months course). I need your suggestions:

- ⛴️ can i go to malasya by ferry (ko lipe to langkawi) or is necessary the flight ticket?

- 🎫 do I need a flight back into thailand ? (And if yes, how long I consider for having already the visa grant?)

- 💰 I have the bank statement in italian , can I translate to english myself?

- any additional tip?

🙏🏻 Thanks everyone.

DTV Dependent

Hello,

Does anyone have recent experience applying for a DTV dependent visa in Malaysia please?

How long did it take for approval?

I've recently had a baby in Thailand and his passport has arrived so I want to travel to KL to apply for his DTV dependent visa (I am the main DTV visa holder and both my husband and daughter are already dependents).

I'm wondering how long I should expect to stay in KL?

Thank you in advance, appreciate your help.

Hi,

I entered Thailand for the first time on 1/10/2025 and received a 60 days stay. I haven’t done any extensions or visa runs yet. I would like to stay in Thailand until 1/18/2026, so I’m planning to do a visa run until 28/11/2025 to get another 60 days.

I booked a border run with a local agency, but they told me they can’t process the visa run at the original border (Chiang Khong) due to stricter regulations. They suggested a different border, but the situation feels a bit uncertain. I’m considering whether it might be simpler to book a same- ay return flight to Malaysia instead.

Given the current circumstances, which option would be better? I hold a Hungarian passport.

I am currently in bkk on a 60 visa exempt entry. I am planning on flying to Malaysia and applying for multi entry visa. This is my way of navigating visa runs without any stress. I plan to leave on a Wednesday and come to bkkk back on Wednesday, is that enough to to apply for online abd receive the visa? Or do I need to stay in Malaysia longer?

Also, will this successful at navigating entry, I plan to split my time between countries and I don’t want any issues coming back and forth.

What is the best and closest country to fly to that does not require a visa for someone from the United States? How long should I stay until flying back to Thailand?

Hello everyone.

My DTV was approved (Ho Chi Minh). It took a week longer than anticipated and I came back to Thailand early (entered with a tourist visa).

I'm planning a trip to KL next week to get the DTV stamp. I've been there many times, so I was thinking of returning the same day. Would Thai immigration have any problems with it?

I know those border runs were more of an issue when entering back into Thailand with a tourist visa. Would it be fine to do a 3-4 hour trip, but entering with DTV this time?

I've done a few border runs in my time just the walk over ones. As I stand there I see the Thai and Malaysian come and go seemly no checks ??? . I'm off to Kuala Lumpur soon for a few days and you know it is my Thai lady friend says I come I come. So the question is do a Thai need a passport to go to Malaysia ?
