1 year Non O based on Spouse can only be approved from Canberra. Sometimes they approve it locally under consultation but they advise it may be sent to Canberra and take more time.
It isn't a 7 day extension. If your application for 30 day extension is denied you get 7 days to leave. It still costs you your application fee of 1900 baht.
I suppose than, like immigration, each Amphur is different. We were not at our local. We had to do it in Bangkok. We had a few issues with the witness requirement but that was sorted by a senior official.
I got married a year ago in Bangkok and showed nothing related to finances. It was all about having a notarised certificate stating I was free to marry. It was a fairly large department/main office.
I have entered many exempts, on SETV's and now have multiple entries on Non O. Never been asked but I always carry it. It is habit now. You never know when they will ask.....
I have a Non O visa but when I was going be here for 8 days, and then leave to Delhi for business, I just put 8 days on my TM6 card and they stamped me in for 30 days exempt. So maybe try that and ask.
Jody Dayton Peace dear Jody, the world does not just exist by what you have seen or experienced. And yes I have used Chaengwattana and many other places before. I just obey they law because it is easier than trying "that's what Jody told me" on immigration officers and police.
Jody Dayton Peace your assumption is wrong. All aliens need to be reported when resident in a Thai house. Hotel and similar establishments (usually those who take your passport and scan it) report for you. Otherwise if you have a Tabien Baan you are required to report aliens in residence within 24 hours. Law for a long time.
I am sure I remember signs indicating that you need to have passport, completed TM6 and boarding pass from your incoming flight. I also noticed the last few stamps have the flight number written on them.
