What Should I Do If I'm Denied Entry to Thailand and Stranded in Malaysia?

Report about getting from KL to Bangkok.

Had a flight with AirAsia at 13.15, had health certificates and insurance with 100000$ covid19 coverage.

After landing in Bangkok headed to check point but non of the foreign residents were allowed to enter Thailand, they checked all the paperwork but still escorted us back on the same plane without proper explanation.

The representative of AirAsia in Bangkok said that we have no choice but to travel back to KL and that AirAsia will make sure we will not have any problems entering back to Malaysia.

On arrival we were told we can't enter Malaysia (as expected). We also can't board on any other flight until the 2nd of April. After 3 hours I've realised it isn't a joke. AirAsia representatives are outside after the immigration checkpoint so we can't reach them. They just cancelled all the flights, so ours was the last one, I guess.

Btw I hold non B, had re-entry.

For the next 2 weeks me and my 9 years old son and a group of Polish people who were on the same flight have to spend on the airport floor in Malaysia, they say we have no other options. There are a few other people sleeping on the floors around, the same situation I guess.

We will try to contact the embassy but the Russian embassy in KL is closed until Wednesday.

Also AirAsia Bangkok didn't return our health certificates and insurance.

Any advices?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler reported being denied entry to Thailand despite holding health certificates and a non-B visa, resulting in being sent back to KL where they were also denied entry. Stranded at the airport with a child, they faced uncertainty and sought advice from the community. Many commented suggesting contacting embassies, staying calm, and looking for alternative flights, amidst discussions about airport conditions and visa rules.

Can you contact your embassy in any country.

As far as I know every country's embassy has an emergency number. Try to find that out. In this situation only your embassy can help you fastest.

"After landing in Bangkok headed to check point but non of the foreign residents were allowed to enter Thailand"

But no explanation at all as to why they refused you entry?? Surely they must have to provide some sort of answer....

i'm sorry to hear this happened..its sounds absolutely terrible :/ !

This is exactly why I don’t want to board any kind of flight out of Thailand....this is some twisted stuff happening. I can not believe you were not reissued your health and insurance info!!! Wtf. And to deal with AirAsia of all airlines during this. My heart goes out to you and I hope you guys will be okay or get out soon 🤦‍♀️

I'd be very insistent that Air Asia return the health and insurance documents, they have no right to claim them, only inspect them. Also they are your only proof that you followed the protocols set in place.

Well i feel sorry for ya mate

I'm sorry, there are no flights to any country that will accept us with our Russian passports, not even to Russia as they are all through Bangkok. The next flight we can take is to Vientiane on the 2nd but I need to check the options, trying to reach the Embassy
Rikard ***********

Jesus, that is awful. Sorry mate. Try to remain as calm as for your boy. Try to make it an adventure for him. Thus is a truly dreadful situation.

Do you have food at least??? Also, a photo of your health certificate and insurance would probably help. The rest were recommended by the others. Contact your embassy. My heart goes out to you. Hope everything will be settled in the morning.

Well you not told us upfront that u are Russian... Where you have been and not read all the new regulations before you fliy with children

you miss the point. They had what they believed to be the correct papers. Air Asia 100% at fault for accepting them on the flight. Air Asia has to sort this.

I read about all the regulations. I had everything prepared. We both live in Thailand and were coming back home, we had medical certificates and insurance.

Both countries are locked down, only accepting their own returning citizens. The date April 1 is not an optimistic one, most probably it will be extended. Dont wait. Get help from your embassy.

Yea let us know if you had an actual lab test certificate for COVID19 (hard to obtain anywhere in the world due to shortage of testkits) or just a medial cert that you were free of symptoms?

You need to contact with your embassies. I can help your friends from Poland only. There is a plane on 25th of March to Poland and if they have money for the ticket they can back. The embassy can give them a letter which we need to take to the immigration office. The only solution is the embassy in that case. Good luck.
