Should I do a border bounce or seek an extension for my 30-day visa exemption in Thailand?

In a few weeks I need to either do a border bounce or get an extension to my visa exempt 30 days. My question is what's best? I do not have a completed TM30 and I am living with my gf family 25 minutes away. I don't want to get them in to trouble. I also have six 30 day exempt stamps since May last year. I am thinking extension but don't have the TM30
