555 Robert. Plenty of men though. I am talking about at the airport specifically. I started going to only men about 2 years ago and have had no problems since. The few years before that I had problems on a number of occasions with the female IOs, ONLY females, never males. It does not seem to be a coincidence. Look at most of the posts when people say they had problems. 99% always start the story with SHE.....it is my new system and it is working so far :)

Avoid women IOs....Not being sexist....but they are way more nasty in my experience in Thailand. I always go to male Officer (after having a few problems with the female ones repeatedly). Never had a problem since. Again just my personal experience...

Best of luck. Many neighbouring countries will give you a tourist visa....if you can clear the overstay that is....I hope your Lawyer has some powerful friends...!!!

The only visa I know about for medical reasons (if it is still around) is a non-immigrant Visa for medical treatment. 90 days. Requires proof that they’re receiving treatment from a licensed medical facility.

Also OA visas are not specific to the US and apply to most countries....

As Xavier said....start with the money in your home bank and then for the IN country extension (not renewal) you need it in a Thai bank....OR show 65k baht in monthly income (this can be from outside of Thailand).

If rotating consulates there is IN THEORY...no limit to tourist visas....unless an Immigration officer or a Consulate official.is having a bad day and takes it out on you ;).....People say Oh you should be an Expat and get a long term visa.....but if you have already done ED visas (like me) there is not really a lot of other options for the under 50's....!! I just reproduced though.....so that will solve my problem...LOL :)

Yes....If in Pattaya or Phuket you will also need a TM30 form and docs.... If Bangkok then not needed.

Indeed.....rent + food + entertainment + transport + insurance + emergency money + flights home if needed.....it all adds up. 66k a month is not a lot. There is a HUGE difference to 'surviving' in Thailand and living comfortably and enjoying retirement. At 50 you might live 20 more years....So you probably need a few hundred k dollars to do that nice and comfortably, not 25.5k (800k) for only 1 year.
