TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, your friend can extend his stay for one month after his second visa exemption at any immigration office for a fee of 1900 Baht. If he is in Pattaya or Phuket, he will also need to provide a TM30 form and other documents, but this is not required in Bangkok.

Yes....If in Pattaya or Phuket you will also need a TM30 form and docs.... If Bangkok then not needed.

and after that for 7 days for 1900 thb ...

The final 7 day "extension" is more like a get-out! eviction notice. Not to be taken for granted.

maybe you want stay 4-7 days more in Thailand and leaving then ... or waiting for some visa documents to be finished - its an option - just to mention.

No point in paying 1,900 baht for an additional 7 days when you can just spend that 1,000 baht for a ticket to Laos and then 1,000 baht for a brand new tourist visa giving you 60 days

Daniel Schwarting Note that a visa exempt permission of stay (30 days) can only be extended once for a further 30 days. What the previous poster was saying is correct. Upon applying again, your application is denied, your 1,900 baht fee collected, and you receive 7 days to leave the country. That is not an extension and I would not recommend an extension denied stamp in anybody's passport really. It may have been ok 10 years ago, but times are changing. If you want to give the next Immigration officer an opportunity to pick on something and question why you're spending so much time in Thailand, then follow that route.

Samwise Fila nope - after 30 days you can get 7 days more - so total for visa excemption 67 days
