Understood, but an exemption stamp implies a level of trust for the citizens of certain countries. Given that I otherwise operate well within the confines of the law, I shouldn’t need to bother my hosts with duties they know not of. Since opinions to skirt the rules are not allowed here, I’ll shut up now..

For 3 weeks?? Seriously? “Abroad” from where? I stay the night I arrive at a legit hotel, and then forget about it. Do you really think immigration is THAT concerned about chasing away tourists on stamps?

You’ll notice I used quotation marks in the post in deference to Tod... 😋

That’s one of the things I was wondering about... Although, you gotta wonder why on Earth getting a 6 month tourist visa each year would put you on a misuse radar.

Those are exactly the 2 I’m asking about. I’m wondering which of the 2 would be best based on the conditions in the OP.

Just wanted to clarify this since it wasn’t addressed. 🙂

I’m not seeing where anyone’s answered this guy’s OP question, which was about the need to enter/exit vs. report...

That’s exactly what I was thinking, too. So it’s likely the embassy is going to accept either. That answers my first question...

I once applied for a marriage visa for my Filipina gf (she failed) and remember only needing a clearance from the MI State Police. At any rate, what about the Thai consulate? What are they looking for? Will a DUI conviction prevent you from being granted a visa? I’ve seen a few posts that seem to say if you apply while you’re already in Thailand on a stamp, they go easier on you.
