Same as the embassy websites. Even if they do manage to roll out whatever changes by the first of the month, 3 weeks should be enough to process and get it back to me, even if they start early. God, I hate sending my passport out in a freaking envelope. I paid for Express Mail return, as well- even though the Chicago site doesn’t list it as a requirement. That Chicago site is bare bones. They don’t even tell you to duplicate your app.
Understood, but an exemption stamp implies a level of trust for the citizens of certain countries. Given that I otherwise operate well within the confines of the law, I shouldn’t need to bother my hosts with duties they know not of. Since opinions to skirt the rules are not allowed here, I’ll shut up now..
For 3 weeks?? Seriously? “Abroad” from where? I stay the night I arrive at a legit hotel, and then forget about it. Do you really think immigration is THAT concerned about chasing away tourists on stamps?
That’s one of the things I was wondering about... Although, you gotta wonder why on Earth getting a 6 month tourist visa each year would put you on a misuse radar.
