Do I need to file anything at immigration if my hotel files a TM30 after my arrival in Thailand on an O-A visa?

Coming in to BKK on an O-A. The friends I was going to stay with while looking for an apartment (in another province) have now backed out because they don’t need the hassle of dealing with immigration (even online). Therefore, I’ll be staying at a hotel instead of the address given to the embassy over here. Is the hotel filing a TM30 on me good enough, or do I need to head to immigration? Also, when I then leave the hotel for another hotel in the province where I’ll be staying, what then? Sorry if the answers should be obvious, but I’ve seen very little about the TM30 as it pertains to new arrivals..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The hotel where you will be staying is responsible for filing the TM30 registration for you upon your arrival. It's advisable to confirm with the hotel that they indeed will file it. If you decide to move to another hotel later, the new hotel should file another TM30 for your new address. If you have any concerns or need clarification, visiting your local immigration office can provide additional guidance.

and just like that we're done.

EVERYTHING we know about the TM30 process is in this thread.

Find the answer in there or GO to the immigration office you'll be dealing with where you stay.

Every arrival from outside Thailand is a new arrival for all foreigners. The law upon which it is based doesn’t differentiate by the type of stay permission you have.

the hotel files the TM30. The 90 day reporting and TM30 address should match.

The address you gave the embassy, don’t matter.

OK, so I guess the address I used to get the visa is simply a matter of ‘record’ and is never communicated to immigration in Thailand. I suppose that makes sense, since they are different agencies.

If you are looking for an apartment to rent, do yourself a favour and make sure you get a landlord who is happy to be TM30 compliant.

The hotels should register you and file the TM30. To make sure...ask them. If they take a copy of your passport most likely they are doing do to file the TM30 as hotel guest.

The hotel does all that for you.
