Next month, friends from abroad visit me and stay for 3 weeks in my own house in Thailnd. Who has to register for immigration for TM 30? Me or my official Thai landowner? And what documents are needed for registration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The responsibility for TM30 registration when hosting foreign guests in Thailand lies with the homeowner or property owner, not the foreign visitor. If you own the house, you are required to register your guests with immigration. The necessary documents for registration typically include the guests' passports and their TM6 departure cards. However, enforcement of this rule varies by immigration office, and in some cases, guests who stay for a short duration may not encounter issues if not registered.

And people wonder why I close TM.30 posts as fast as people ask about them.

We're done,

Good Luck to the O/P and their friends, (y)

For 3 weeks?? Seriously? “Abroad” from where? I stay the night I arrive at a legit hotel, and then forget about it. Do you really think immigration is THAT concerned about chasing away tourists on stamps?

Understood, but an exemption stamp implies a level of trust for the citizens of certain countries. Given that I otherwise operate well within the confines of the law, I shouldn’t need to bother my hosts with duties they know not of. Since opinions to skirt the rules are not allowed here, I’ll shut up now..

Immigration is not chasing away tourists. They just ask you or your landlord, house owner or land owner to register if you stay at a private address.

I see some questions: AirBNB or other websites do not visit Immigration for you. Yes it is a mandatory since 1979, but not enforced by all Immigration Offices. But I'm the owner does not exclude you from the law. In this topic I explain, answered lots of Q&A, how to register on-line and more help for every foreigner who like to stay at a private address in Thailand. As there are over 70 Immigration Offices, I did not make a separate database of every office and their enforcement and yes even this enforcement changes. Check with you local Immigration Office

But I am the owner of my house with a yellow house book. But I think that's the same as when I rented a house and I'm registered in the lease contract.

Is it a mandetory? Last 3 years i never did. I went out of thailand several time and come back. Also extended my visa, never asked.

At Chiang Mai immigration you go upstairs to the 3rd floor. You take their passport along with their TM 6 which is their departure card. You fill out a form and then you get a notification of where they are staying.

I was told this last week at immigration. You can do it aslong as your name is on the rent agreement.

I was told this by immigration.

Someone can please correct me if I am wrong?

I will be doing this on Friday for a friend

Personally I don't register people who aren't going to stay in the country for longer than their visa/if they never have to visit immigration. The problem comes if they visit immigration and they see the person hasn't been registered they fine you. In cases like in NST apparently we get fined 500 baht per day up to the value of 20 000 baht

@Jess ******
NST yeah I get problem before there also when you try to extend paid extra fine!

And who did your TM.30 form?

I know! I went to Immigration same day I arrived in Thailand and got a stamp on my TM 30 form. Now the question is about my foreign visitors.

a re-entry permit does NOT re-file or update a TM.30 form. :/

and you've been in the country the whole last two years? You need to update the TM.30 every time you re-enter the country
