Can anyone speak to the current policy at Hua Hin Immigration regarding the TM-30, and do both offices follow the same policy? Specifically, if you remain within the province, but bounce around to places for short stays (i.e. cash-based guesthouses) that may not be filing on your behalf, would you need to report that?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current policy at Hua Hin Immigration regarding the TM-30 is interpreted to mean that if expats do not leave Thailand, they may not need to file a new TM-30 for short stays within the province, though this interpretation may vary by office. It's advisable to consult with landlords or the immigration office directly to clarify reporting requirements for temporary accommodations, as failing to report may result in fines.
I know two people who live in Hua Hin and both filed TM30's at BluPort Mall and they were told as long as they didn't travel outside of thailand they didn't need to file a new TM30 (which is totally NOT how the law is written but evidently how the law is being interpreted down there).
Post on a Hua Hin group.
And because this is another TM30 thread, that's about as far as I'm gonna let it go :O
or you speak with your landlord, house owner, land owner or with immigration office yourself on how and when they like you to inform them about your move a rounds or you just don't and face a fine when you need immigration to work for you. Next to this the rule is very clear, what ever type of accommodation you wish to visit does not have any influence of changing the rules in your benefit.
In addition to replies here....after you arrive in Hua Hin... I would suggest you visit Hua Hin Immigration and ask them what their policy is re TM30 reporting.
Enforcement changing at Immigration offices, more and more offices are enforcing the rules, than letting some people getting of the hook for some reasons. What happened today with mister X does not have any guarantee that mister Y has the same treatment the next day. Only thing to be sure, just do it, every time you leave your base, make the report on return.
My question was does anyone have any knowledge as to what the policy is, as I am considering living there. Is your advice to “move there and then find out”? Really?
