They were going to have to remove those in case you were hiding something under there you didn't want them to see. So, you gave them extra work.

 have you contacted the specific office you will be applying at? For instance, I didn't need the affirmation translated and legalised again for my non o application.

 it also says a 'copy' of letter, so just print out the photo of the one you used
