spot on. The counter that does the letters just looks at the slip from the TM30

not true Lyndon. When I first arrived on my Non Imm O in April I need a letter to open my bank account. Just submitted my TM30 for my address, then got the slip in my passport and went to the other counter for a residency letter. In Pattaya and without an agent

I've had AIS for years but it was starting to get dodgy in certain areas, especially when going up to our house up north. I changed to True and its much better and cheaper.

cheers. That's the one thing putting me off. Can't be bothered messing about going to Bangkok when there doesn't seem to be too much of a benefit, if any benefit at all

for the yellow book did you have to get everything translated into Thai and have stamped at your embasy?

Pretty much as Geert says above and also things can differ from each immigration office. Just to add, once entered on your Non Imm O, that lasts for 3 months but you can apply for your extention based on marriage (form TM7) early. I think upto 30 days before it runs out, so you get plenty of time. Open your bank account straight away.

Are you on good terms with the mother? If so, just get her a Thai passport. It'll save hassle
