Need advice. I am heading back to the UK with my British/Thai daughter. She has a newly issued British passport but does not have a valid Thai passport. Will she be allowed to leave Thailand? She has her Thai ID card

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around a British-Thai girl who holds a newly issued British passport but lacks a valid Thai passport. Comments suggest it is possible for her to leave Thailand on her British passport, especially if accompanied by her Thai ID card. However, there are caveats regarding her lack of entry stamp into Thailand and the need for her mother's written consent for travel. Suggestions are made for obtaining a Thai passport quickly, with additional support from other users sharing experiences and tips on how to manage the process efficiently.

And the reason you don't wanna get her a thai passport (that takes a max of 3 days to get) is what again?
The MFA out at Chaengwattana OR the one in the Khlong Toei MRT station are both open as far as I know.
I mean even if you don't get her a thai passport she'll get OUT of the country on the brit one but just go get the thai passport for her before you leave.
She'll stamp out on the thai one and enter the UK on the brit one.
Think it's all good now. Was told that I will get her new Thai passport within 5 days by registered post. Happy days

She had a Thai passport but it is expired. I have only 1 week left to do this so my anxiety is the time restraint in case I can't complete the process in time.
Thanks Faye I went to Klong Toei and did the application this morning. Correct for 3500B you can collect the same day, but, you have to go to Chang Wattana.

She can exit on her British passport. The letter of the law says she needs the mothers consent to leave the country in writing, but if you don't say anything you shouldn't have an issue.

Does anybody know if the Thai passport issuing service is available right now at the Klong Toei office or am I looking at another trek out to Chang Wattana?

I have this letter of mothers consent and it is stamped at the district office in Bangkok. The thing is she doesn't have an entry stamp on her UK passport as she was born in Bangkok and never left
- I had a similar dilemma. I wasn't happy/sure that my daughter would be allowed to leave on her UK passport, as it had no entry stamp in it. So, I got her a Thai passport. It was easy, cheap and quick. Immigration still questioned me at the airport as to where the mother was. They also talked to my daughter and eventually let us through. My daughter was 8 at the time. You really should,if possible, get her a Thai passport.

And I'm pretty sure that you'll need a letter from her mom to allow her traveling alone with her father.
Better she get a Thai passport as well, otherwise she would need a visa to come back like any foreigner.
Beside, I'm sure immigration will not let a Thai national out of the country without a passport. For Thai law, she is a Thai, whatever her other nationalities are.

It's very easy and quick to get the Thai passport as I remember and just costs 1000 bht. Unless she entered into the country on her British passport I imagine she will have some issue as she won't have an entry stamp.
