TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on obtaining a residence certificate in Bangkok while living in a condo rented under a friend's name, and they have lost the original rental contract. Several commenters clarify that a 90-day report and TM30 slip are essential for this process. It is suggested that a letter from the friend, along with their Thai ID, would be sufficient, and that the actual lease contract may not be necessary if the reported documents are provided.

Okay you goof-balls READ the post before lipping off with you're totally non-relevant "at my office they do this, or that"

The O/P is in BANGKOK, and IN Bangkok (Bobby said in the first response) you can't get a certificate of residence from the immigration office without having filed at least ONE 90 day report.

If you haven't done that your only option for a certificate of residence in bangkok is thru your embassy

Tod Daniels. Thank you Tod. I can see why on Visa Advice you shut down comments pretty quickly. Some of the comments bear little resemblance to the original post, and the poor guy is left totally confused, especially as he's also relying on advice from an agency!

It was trivial for me to get "resistence certificate" from the embassy. It's also closer than the immigration overflow centre.
Bobby ********
Michael Saunders. This is from a friggin' agent! You can take what they say with a pinch of salt! 🤣🤣

Actually
@Bo***
it's pretty accurate

Notice what it says right at the top?

I have done my 90 day report just the other day that’s not a problem, its just that I don’t have anything to show my address anymore we lost the contract but it’s not in my name anyway, I read I need my lease contract with me when I apply,
Bobby ********
Michael Saunders. Your TM30 and 90-day reports are evidence of your address. You don't need the contract, and if your name's not on it anyway, it's not worth a pinch of shit

@Bobby *******
spot on. The counter that does the letters just looks at the slip from the TM30
Lyndon ************
As
@Bobby *******
says...

Without the 90 day report it is impossible in Bangkok, although possible in Pattaya via an agent

@Lyndon ***********
not true Lyndon. When I first arrived on my Non Imm O in April I need a letter to open my bank account. Just submitted my TM30 for my address, then got the slip in my passport and went to the other counter for a residency letter. In Pattaya and without an agent

arrived from where with a Non immigrant O if you came from outside Thailand you'd arrive with a non immigrant OA visa

@Ken *******
arrived from Saudi. In April.

on an O or OA O is given in Thailand OA is given outside Thailand
Frédéric ******************
@Ken *******
There are several kinds of non-O and they are delivered outside of Thailand.
Ken ********
@Frédéric ****************
from what I've been told at immigration an O visa is from inside Thailand an OA is from a Thai embassy or consulate outside Thailand
Frédéric ******************
@Ken *******
Non-O family reunion, marriage, supporting Thai child, accompanying working spouse, volunteering, etc. are all available at embassies. Non-OA is for retirement.

@Frédéric ****************
I got my retirement visa in Thailand it was an O visa
Frédéric ******************
@Ken *******
You got an extension of stay based on retirement. I may be wrong but I don't think there is the mention "non-O" in your passport.
Frédéric ******************
@Ken *******
here is mine

@Ken *******
wow, that's a new thing then. Thanks for the info.

@Ba***
yes if you are living in Pattaya. The OP is in Bangkok

I bet the agent could still do it

Let her make a rental contact for you and take it to make a visa.

You need to have filed a 90-day report to get a residence certificate at immigration, and also bring your TM30 slip. That's all you'll need. Plus passport
Brett *********
@Bobby *******
not necessarily true. I got a residence certificate from immigration for my driver's licence while on a Non O Spouse multi entry. No 90 reports because less than 90 days in country. Just TM30 and passport. Accompanied by my wife with her Tabien Baan

@Brett ********
same here

Barry Nicholls. He's not married
Brett *********
@Bobby *******
yes but the point is you do not need to have done a 90 report if you have not been in the country for less than 90 days. Marriage has nothing to do with it. It was just an example of an entry into the country for less than 90 days.
Bobby ********
@Brett ********
. Bangkok immigration will not issue a residency certificate unless you filed a 90-day report. I understand others might. You emphasised you're on a Spouse visa and were accompanied by your wife with Tabien Baan. This is not relevant to the OP's question.
Brett *********
@Bobby *******
oh it was you. Sorry. But you still didn't mention Bangkok immigration.
Bobby ********
Brett Wilkins. Anyway I'll delete my original post. I think the OP has the necessary information
Brett *********
@Bobby *******
Bangkok immigration was mentioned by the OP? I used an example of a multi entry visa that only allows stays of up to 90 days of which there are a few. I believe I was refuting the blanket statement of needing a 90 day report. As others have also done.
Bobby ********
Brett Wilkins. Which is why I added the TM30, as most other immigration offices will accept this. It covered all bases. And then posters started dribbling about being married and Tabien Baans, which further complicates a very simple exercise
Brett *********
@Bobby *******
I am absolutely wrong about the OP mentioning Bangkok. Sorry. So Bangkok immigration will not issue a certificate unless you have been in the country more than 90 days? Wow. Seems we are lucky to not be in Bangkok.
Nigel ********
@Brett ********
, that's correct in my personal experience. MTT in Bkk require you've done your first 90 report before they'll issue a Certificate of Residency.
Bobby ********
Brett Wilkins. Lucky because you haven't filed a 90-day report? Really? Wow!
