my point was more with regard to the OP question, despite previous eds and many other visa stamps and interrogations I was able to get a 5cyear dtv and it was activated on the first entry so un theory 5 years unless/until something changes.

ok sure that is true and they could cancle the dtv as with many other flip flops but the visa is 5 years and yes either bounce out every 6 months or extend in country and submit all the paperwork again. But as far as I and everyone who has a dtv is concerned its valid for 5yrs, come and go as you please but liable for tax if more than 180 days oh and you are still a tourist and can't have a bank account. Still 10x better than TR or ED or VOA and cheap enough i don't care if it gets scrapped after a year or whatever.
