TLDR : Answer Summary
Several users confirm that transitioning from an ED visa to a DTV visa is possible without issues, as long as specific requirements are met. Users shared their experiences, noting that they successfully applied for a DTV visa after their ED visa expired or was cancelled, and emphasized the importance of obtaining a cancellation letter from the school. General consensus indicates that previous visa history does not negatively impact the DTV application, provided all actions are legitimate.

Yes, No problem. Just make sure to get a cancel visa letter from the school and cancel the Ed visa before you leave to apply for DTV. It doesn't auto cancel when you leave the country.

Had ED visa for 4 years, IB and B visas for 10-ish and did 3 tourist stamps before applying DTV and no problems. Safe to say previous visa history doesn't matter at all as long as everything has been legit. Just meet the DTV requirements.

thank you for that wonderful advice, I guess base on your personal experience?

But that wouldn’t be necessary for me because I’m a woman.

Kindly bring your humour elsewhere, mister. πŸ˜‰

not quite. You have to cancel the Ed visa before applying DTV bc you cannot apply for DTV while holding another visa.

I've applied without a problem, and I canceled it after arrival (after getting a DTV stamp).

Same here. Safer to apply for the DTV before cancelling ED.
