Pay to break the rules and find out how much it may cost the hard way. Search first on the consequences.

Also, Bangkok Bank make up their own rules, so be careful. To get a certificate letter showing proof of funds they refuse it the funds were not in your account for 4 months before renewal, although they do not tell you that until it is too late.

With Revolut to Krungthai funds can arrive in under 1 minute, but during banking holidays it can take longer. With Bangkok Bank it was often variable with no indication of when funds might arrive Avoid Bangkok Bank at all costs.

BKB told me that they do this to comply with the Thai Immigration rules, which is odd, because the Immigration do not have this requirement. They also do not inform their customers of their new rule until it becomes an issue. It really appears that with all the other BS from BKB that their business model is to lose as many customers as possible. They treat many Thai customers really badly too after my extension in May I will mind everything out of BKB, keep my accounts, just do I can regularly email them with silly questions to further drain their resources and confuse them with English.

Steve Drane my understanding is that any agent who offers this service is not following the rules and you risk losing your money, your 'visa' being revoked, and a fine, a black mark in your passport, a term of not being able to return, oh, and deportation following a spell in an immigration detention centre. You can Google search what conditions in one of these centres are like and how long you may stay there, especially if you do not have the funds to pay your fines or costs of deportation. All of which can impact you being able to travel to any other countries in future.
