i dont give a single sh.t personally. But it’s literally stated during the application process, and you literally sign/declared that you are physically located in the country you are applying from. Its also well known, and quite universal for for most countries/embassies for most
countries.
Applying online is no different than applying in person. Otherwise we would all be doing Evisa from thailand and just border bounce to activate it. But we don’t as the consequences of getting caught is quite severe.
So yes you even declared/signed that you were physically in your home country while applying. That is fraud.
Likely you wont get caught, but if immigration notice in the dates in your passport stamps that you were actually in Thailand when applying trough US embassy; you would be facing deportation and blacklisting.
Its your own responsibility so obviously they wouldn’t bother to verify your IP location as VPN are common anyway.
You cant exit by car with a rental car though. Laos is also easier by land; just park, walk trough, walk back. No need to stay over like sometime required with Malaysia.
Brandon Thurkettle I thought so as well, but I see now the SETV here in NL is 75 euro. But doesn’t matter, still worth the convenience of avoiding wasting a day to get the extension while on holiday.
Last time I used METV, easy to apply, approved in two days. And super convenient when in Thailand. (I spent 6 months)
I will definitely be getting proper visa next time as well, unless I know the trip will be under 30 days.
