they are completely different visas. One is a resident visa, the other a multiple entry tourist visa that requires exits and complicated extensions, and up for more scrutiny at immigration entry as its being abused allot.

They aren’t comparable, completely different purposes.

@Jim *******
definitely, as its a real long term resident visa. Not a multiple entry tourist visa as DTV is….

Im only using DTV to bridge to retirement. Retirement visa way way more convenient if above 50. No need for exits. DTV is a tourist visa after all.

Anonymous participant 510 what office?

Online only possible on second report after most recent entry. First one after entry in person or by physical mail.

nothing fraudulent about medical DTV, if you receive actual treatment 🤷🏻‍♂️

Getting an appointment for treatment and then canceling would be fraudulent. I received my DTV based on Initial hospital consultation. But I have monthly appointments and ongoing treatment. And can get controlled by immigration

All you need to get medical DTV is a single hospital appointment…….A simple google told me Smile Dental in Bangkok can assist with DTV. Mine is based on hospital treatment

There’s no «you have to this», you heve to that»!

Its all based on the person you meet at the individual bank branch. Every branch and sometimes individuals have different requirements. Like most formal stuff in Thailand 🤷🏻‍♂️

I opened my accounts at first attempt based on Medical treatment + DTV. All they wanted to see was my Visa and ongoing medical treatment. This was in Bangkok just a few months ago.

But what is important: Dress formal when going to the bank. Bank employees are considered «authority», and in Thai culture presenting yourself formally when dealing with bank, immigration, or any authority does matter.

Showing up in flip flops, shorts and singlet is a sure wat to get rejected.
