Exchange shops are usually cheaper if you choose the right ones, superrich or Vasu of in Bangkok. Though they are quite picky with notes. Slightest damage gets rejected.

But many exchange shops have horrid rates as well, so do your research based on your location. And avoid exchange more than absolutely necessary at airports.

Before I moved here I brought fresh Eur bills.

id agree it’s sleazy/sneaky sales tactics. But doesn’t qualify as a scam. Sorry to nitpick, but it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♂️

I opened with Bangkok Bank in Bangkok about 1 month ago. Charged me 500 baht for atm card which was then deposited into my account.

As someone already mentioned, probably trying to sell you life insurance?

Have a thai friend and walk into desired condo buildings at desired location and ask Juristic office what’s available.

If using facebook groups, have a thai friend help you look on the thai language ones, and let your friend do the talking.

Or look at websites like propertyhub, ddproperty etc,

To find best deals, walk-in with Thai friend helping is likely best.

Its a freakin jungle, same properties gets listed at different prices multiple times on same sites and groups lol.

@Dca ****
thanks. My main concern is making sure I can legally drive motorbike. Your comment about dual language appears to clarify that part.

I may go ahead and convert it anyway to be on the safe side.
