90 day reports with a DTV. I want to share my experience so that others may learn from it.

1. You must do your 90 day report in the province that your TM-30 address is located.

2. You have to do your report in person if you hold a DTV. There are no options for online filing, unless you have done the 6 month extension in country without leaving to reset the visa. I will explain this more below.

I recently needed to do my 2nd 90 day report while holding a DTV in Thailand. I read that after the first report in person you may submit the following reports online. This is true, however the count of reports submitted resets after every new arrival in the country. As a DTV holder, I leave every 6 months for a period of time so I will never have a 2nd 90 day report on one visit into Thailand. The 7 day grace period covers any "tight" timelines on having to do a 2nd 90 day report in 6 months.

I was traveling visiting some friends during my last reporting window and submitted online, only to be rejected. I visited the local immigration facility and it was explained to me that I needed to do the report where I live only. They were very nice and calmed my fears of problems with immigration by helping me understand the 7 day grace period after the 90 days in country that you have to file. I was home before that time was expired so everything worked out fine.

I just wanted to help anyone else that might not have gone through the 90 report process yet. Because of the slight pain of the process in my busy area now that it is high season, I might consider one of those do it for you visa services to file my next 90 day report, if they don't charge too much.

Hi all, with the 90 check in I know your first time has to be in person which I did, then in August o left and came back now I have to do my check in again but it got rejected online, do I have to go to in person again everytime I leave? And come back?

Last week, I received practical advice from a couple of members here, so I thought I would share my experience with my first in-person 90-day report at Chiang Mai Immigration. I hope this information helps anyone who may need it in the future.

You only need to pull up your car to the drive-thru window, submit a completed TM47, a TM30 issued by your landlord (if you are a tenant), and your passport. It's free of charge, and it only took me two minutes. I drove away with my passport and a receipt of notification.

Before going, I didn't have a TM47 form with me, so the officer gave me a blank TM47 during the first round and told me to drive out, fill in the form, and come back to the line. The 90-day report drive-thru at Chiang Mai Immigration Office has two windows: one for drivers in automobiles and another for applicants on foot.

Do I have to do it?

Is it online or in person?

What information do I have to provide?

And then what do I do at day 180 when flying in and out?

I saw this poster in immigration, does this mean that DTV holders can just do their 90 day report online or do you still have to present the immigration in person after doing this online process?

90 day reporting

I went to CW immigration on 3rd Jan for my first 90 day reporting. My understanding was I could then do all 90 reporting online, which I did yesterday. However this has been rejected saying I have to go in person, any idea why it’s saying that?

I’ve not been out of Thailand since I arrived on 3rd November 2024.

Destination Thailand Visa holders ARE obligated to file a 90 day report if you stay in the country for 90 continuous days. If you leave the country before that, the 90 day count down clock stops and it resets and starts back up counting down from 90 when you stamp in to thailand again.

Your 90 day report would be due 89 days after the date you stamp in to thailand (the day you arrive is day one :O no matter what time you stamp in )

At most offices you are required to do the first 90 day report in person (but you can certainly try the online program, worst case you'll get rejected and have to go in person anyway)

For in person the "window of opportunity" is from 2 weeks BEFORE the due date until 1 week AFTER the due date <- meaning you have a 3 week window to apply in person :)

For online the "window of opportunity" is from 2 weeks BEFORE the due date down until 1 week BEFORE the due date <- meaning you have a 1 week window online

The minute you submit a 90 day report online you get an email that says this

This means it was not approved and they'll usually have a reason in the email as to why

Make sure you take time, get the address exactly as it is on the TM30, because those two systems cross check each other

Also online for the two variable dates; USE the calendar drop down tab and select the dates that way. The first box is your most recent date of arrival in thailand AND the second box "Stay Visa Expire" is when your CURRENT ENTRY STAMP expires (not the DTV 5 year visa expiration date)

NOTE: (while I am not advocating this I will relate it to you all)

IF you don't do your 90 day reporting and just go to leave the country at the 180 day mark to bounce out/back and get a new stamp NOTHING will happen at the airport or land border :O .

Those immigration officers don't fool with 90 day reporting at all, they don't care in the least if you ever did one or not. They'll just stamp you out without any question.

As a rule the only time having a 90 day report filed on a DTV matter is IF you're going to the immigration office to get a certificate of residence (for a bank account, driver's license, etc) OR going to get the one 180 day in country extension you're allowed to apply for per entry.

Keep in mind the maximum fine for failure to file a 90 day report (whether you're 8 days late OR 8 months late) is 2000baht, that fine doesn't go up, but as I said officers at the land borders or the airport won't care in the least if you ever filed a 90 day report or not when you stamp out of the country

Hello - is there anywhere we can find out more information about the 90 day reporting? Must this be done in person at a Thai immigration office or can it be done online?

Also, would you be required to present all the original documentation again as is required at the 180 day extension.

If you leave and re-enter Thailand before the 90 days arrives does this exempt you from having to do the 90 day report?
