I do not want PR - I qualified a few years ago and did not apply.( I qualified in Singapore but did not want it). It has no real benefits for me, others might be different. It is OK for those with families here for the duration or who want to become Thai Citizens

If you are not Tax Resident in Thailand I cannot see an issue with sending money in. A pal is sending in a lot more than that today to buy a condo and he is not tax resident so no issue.

I did not say that 🙂 If you can prove that saving etc was earned prior to 2024 you can send it no problem. If it was earned after January 1st 2024 and you are Thai Tax resident it is assessable but subject to allowances and Double Taxation Agreements (THIS IS NOT TAX ADVICE) :-)

Taxes is a complex subject and it gets emotional for many 🙂If, and it is a big if, DTV Visa holders get caught up in the tax system it will be for 2025 and the March 2026 tax submission. Wait and see what happens to the 95% of Retirement Visa holders who will not be submitting a tax return for 2024 and do not have a TIN.

It matters not. Many here have reported getting DTV while on METV, O and ED. There is one report of one person having an issue today in Hanoi with METV. Your love of pedantry does not change facts :-)
