Normal for Thai wife visa. Best just put the amount in an account and forget about it. Then it’s available to show immigration every year without worry regards any time periods etc.

Fly to France then take a small boat across the channel to the uk. On arrival not only will you get free accommodation but also an allowance and free mobile phone.
