@James ******
you will be in for a surprise at Kbank. My friend (foreigner on retirement visa) opened a bank account in UTH, daily transaction limit through the app is only THB 50k. No longer like 5 Mil daily transaction limit like 3 years ago when I first opened it.

the Kbank Central Plaza officer said everything limit is 50K, which is slightly different from what they tell you. 😅 Thanks for the checking out and letting me know, I will get my friend to go to another Kbank branch to ask again. 🙏

@Richard *******
the bank officer yesterday told us "Thai no limit, farang limit 50K"...🙄

My savings account was opened 3 years ago so my daily transaction limit of 5 Mil is unchanged. (for now 🙏)

Only my friend's new account, there's no way to adjust higher than 50K daily transaction limit. 😅

Just curious, when did you open your Kbank account?

Now the new daily limit is 50K. Cannot adjust.

I opened my Kbank three years ago and the daily limit was 5 million.

Amount less than THB 5,000,000 will not be flagged. For amount of THB 5,000,000 and above, Bank of Thailand will require you to provide documentation of proof of source of funds, letter explaining why you are remitting money into Thailand. Once they are satisfied, they will release the money to your account, else they will send the money back to your account.

I took my friend to the Udon thani immigration last week and this is what they said we need. My friend has the Retirement visa and wanted to open a Kasikorn bank account on top of the BBL that she already have.

In Udon Thani, certificate of residency require showing the title deed of the land/house owner, your lease agreement or rental agreement, copy of affidavit stating owner's details and copy of owner's ID card. Costs THB 500/certificate of residency. It's done at local immigration office. Certificate of residency is for each purpose and can't be reused. So if you want to open two bank accounts in two different banks, you will need to request for 2 certificate of residency.
