yes I meant the METV. What, if any, is the reasoning behind only being able to apply for this in your home country?!

great knowledge as usual. Just want to add that it seems either difficult or impossible to obtain a Thai METV in Cambodia, as the agents I’ve spoken to seem to suggest only a SETV is possible. Am I mis-informed?

yes indeed 😄and that’s why answering the questions posted on this is basically ’that depends’. The onward flight question is usually asked by airline staff at check-in, although I noticed recently that it was not asked of me when traveling Thai airways from Istanbul and then again from Tokyo. But it’s always asked in Phnom Penh.

I think you mean your visa exemptions - right? In Bangkok you could go before Christmas but for other locations I cannot say.

to be honest I have no idea. You would need to confirm with your landlord that they filed the TM30 at the start. Or if you had stayed in a hotel for even one night they would usually file it, so it would be in the system.

I was quoted 5,000 bht all-inclusive by an agent in Bangkok, but in the end I went myself at 8:30am and was out by 9:30. When you get to the shopping mall at IT square, go directly to the third floor and follow the clear signs to STEP 1. BUT actually there is an unmarked step zero, which is to get the forms from the box, sit down at the tables provided and complete them first, then go to step 1. I saw many people queue for step 1 only to be told to go back and complete the forms, then come back to queue for step 1 again. But the staff are very good and will guide you after that. I see comments here on bringing a copy of the TM30 with you, but I did not and was not asked for it, presumably because my landlord already has it in the system, so when they check my visa they can see it.

Caroline Park yes read that one carefully. Your arrival visa might get 30 days or might be a few more or less. My previous visa exemption was 27 days and then the extension gave me 33. No idea why…
