TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a visa exemption stay in Thailand by an additional 30 days, it is generally easy to do it yourself. You will need to fill out a TM7 form, provide a passport photo, and submit copies of your passport and entry stamp, along with a fee of 1,900 baht. However, in Jomtien, it's recommended to apply within the last 7 days of your stay and to arrive early at the immigration office as it can get busy. Alternatively, some suggest using an agency, which may charge around 4,000 baht for handling the process without the hassle of waiting in lines. Recommendations for agencies in Jomtien include VIP VISA and AllWays Pattaya. Personal experiences vary, with some finding it straightforward while others encountered delays at the immigration office.

For those who are in Bangkok we do offer this as a VIP full service option where our staff goes to your address and pickups, and drops off your documents.

However the service fee for this can range from 2,000 to 3,500 thb depending on the time of year, and current situation. We only require passport, and we handle everything else on your behalf.

We can do this for those who are outside of bangkok as well but it may make less sense.

Do it yourself mate. It's one of the easier things to do

So easy to do it yourself. Just bring TM 30 and copy of passport first page and visa or exemption stamp. 1900 baht

It's not difficult at all, you can do it yourself, it's more frustrating than anything else doing it at the jomtien immigration, because even if all your paperwork is in order, they just have you there unnecessarily for hours and hours. It's ฿1900 to do it yourself and a few hours sat in the immigration office waiting, or pay an agent, it's usually around ฿4000 and you accompany them to the immigration office, your in and out in 5 mins.

I theory it's easy and you can do it yourself. In actuality, because its the Jomtien immigration office, you may want an agent.

The last time I tried to do an extension there, I was turned away three times. The final time they told me to come back the day the visa expired which would have been problematic if they turned me away again so I used an agent to get the extension the same day.

Jomtien Immigration office is crooked. Of course I have a questionable visa history so they may be more crooked towards me.

I was quoted 5,000 bht all-inclusive by an agent in Bangkok, but in the end I went myself at 8:30am and was out by 9:30. When you get to the shopping mall at IT square, go directly to the third floor and follow the clear signs to STEP 1. BUT actually there is an unmarked step zero, which is to get the forms from the box, sit down at the tables provided and complete them first, then go to step 1. I saw many people queue for step 1 only to be told to go back and complete the forms, then come back to queue for step 1 again. But the staff are very good and will guide you after that. I see comments here on bringing a copy of the TM30 with you, but I did not and was not asked for it, presumably because my landlord already has it in the system, so when they check my visa they can see it.

I think you mean your visa exemptions - right? In Bangkok you could go before Christmas but for other locations I cannot say.

to be honest I have no idea. You would need to confirm with your landlord that they filed the TM30 at the start. Or if you had stayed in a hotel for even one night they would usually file it, so it would be in the system.

I worked 4 years in Thailand. I kept the same landlord for the last 3 years. I'm on a 30 days visa exempt now and wish to renew it before the 27th of December.

I got to IT square around the 20th and no need TM 30 right?

Or I can recommend VIP VISA in Jomtien, if your in Pattaya or Jomtien. They charge a little extra naturally, but they will handle everything from A-Z. No queuing as it gets busy this time of year, so you can spend that time relaxing. Ask for May, very helpful lady. Highly recommended.

Handing any form of ID is always a risk unfortunately.

I would still not want to hand over my passport.

Fair enough. I do understand.

@Paul ****
how much do the charge?
Paul *****
@Lyndon ***********
3,500.. However, I dropped them my passport, a photo and accommodation details at 1.30 yesterday afternoon and they have now messaged me this morning to say all done ✅ and ready to collect! They even drove me to immigration yesterday afternoon from their office to take another photo which literally took less than two minutes. So glad I paid the extra as time IS money and the queues in imagination yesterday were chaotic!

@Paul ****
time is money if you have a job here otherwise it is a waste of money.

Do yourself. Very easy ฿1900.

Ask your landlord for a copy of the TM30 they submitted to immigration.

Photo, copy of passport ID page and stamp. Fill in the form they give you TM7

Easy to do yourself. You need to fill out a form called a TM7, a passport photo and signed copies of your passport and entry stamp and 1,900 baht.

Jomtien normally asks that you wait until your last 7 days before applying. It gets busy so go early.
Stuart *********
Forgot the TM30 requirement. I believe Jomtien requires this. Your hotel or landlord should be able to provide you a print of their filing for you.
