Having a brain fart. I get 30 days visa exempt for Canadian passport. if I arrive Jan 31 in Bangkok and leave Feb 29 that should be exactly 30 days right? I'd have to leave Feb 29 if I arrived Jan 31 right to not overstay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian passport holder arriving in Bangkok on January 31st will have until February 29th to stay in Thailand under the 30-day visa exemption. The day of arrival is counted as the first day, meaning February 29th is indeed the 30th day and must be the departure date to avoid overstaying. It's essential to confirm the length of stay stamped in the passport upon arrival, as there can be variations.
1 day overstay is cheaper than a visa extension 1900 baht for the visa 500 baht for the overstay and you pay that at the airport, I overstayed due to unforeseen circumstances and jut paid the fine at the airport and have been back to Thailand several times since without a problem .
I always booked a holiday to Thailand for 28 nights, it guarantees you will not overstay, people trying to book the exact number of days they are allowed to stay, your just causing yourself mither and worry, and now your now here asking for everyone's advice 🤷😂
Caroline Park yes read that one carefully. Your arrival visa might get 30 days or might be a few more or less. My previous visa exemption was 27 days and then the extension gave me 33. No idea why…
