TLDR : Answer Summary
The connecting walkway between Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park runs from the north inside edge of each park. For bird watching, it is best to visit Benjakitti Park in the morning and then walk to Lumphini Park for additional bird sightings, particularly around the lake. A suggestion includes starting from BTS Asoke and following the connected skywalk west to Lumphini Park. Keep in mind that both parks are large, so visiting them on different days may enhance your experience, especially if you want to spend time observing birds.

Off subject, but the dog park within Benjakitti was very disappointing and not a place in which I would bother walking dogs unless I lived next door. Concrete paths between impenetrable vegetation and filthy, smelly water, all in a very confined area. No off lead area but no shortage of officious notices.
I don't know how much time you have but it would be better to do the parks on different days. They are both pretty large and if you are going to stay and do any bird watching you won't have time to do both
BTS Asoke is probably the closest entry point to the north-east end of Benchakitti. Follow the dog špark west until you see the Skywalk (close to the parking lot, eighth by the water/khlong). Once on the skywalk, follow it West and you will get to Lumpini. Itās a nice walk so even if you get lost a bit, itās all good. Enjoy!
