I was just there last week. The guy in front of me was told they no longer issued one-year visas (but it was far from his first).

For me, they asked where my wife was. I said she was in the hotel across the street (which was true), and they told me to bring her with me to pick up my passport the next day.

We went back the next day and they didn't even glance at her, one year visa was already in the passport.

Yes, a 30 day extension and a 60 day family visit extension on this stay alone. I've been in Thailand since July.

I think I wasn't clear. They said I needed a Laotian visa in advance, because it can't be issued at that border.
