What do I need to submit for a Non-O visa application in Savannakhet?

I just tried to apply for non-Imm O visa based on marriage to a Thai at Lamphun immigration. To my surprise, they insisted that that the 400k needed to be seasoned for two months prior to applying for the visa itself, rather than for the one-year extension as was my understanding.

Since my 30-day extension of a 45-day stamp ends on December 23rd, I am thinking my best option may just be to head to Savannakhet to obtain a non O visa there; in fact, this is more or less what immigration advised me to do.

In general, what should I plan to submit for a non O visa in Savannakhet? Has anyone been there recently?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user attempted to apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on marriage at Lamphun immigration but faced the requirement of having 400,000 baht seasoned for two months prior to the visa application, contrary to their understanding. Due to potential timing issues with their current visa, they are considering applying for the visa in Savannakhet instead. Community advice includes obtaining a 60-day family visit extension to allow funds to season and reassessing the financial requirements for the Non-O visa application.

I recently found out that I could switch from Married to Support of Thai Child and the 400k does not need to be seasoned.

i think you might be talking about the year extension NOT the application for the initial 90 day Non-O visa. (if you are married and have thai children) many of the offices will let you get a "support thai child" extension because there's no seasoning if you haven't got the 2 months seasoning for the marriage extension.

There are several offices that require the 400K baht for a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage be seasoned the 2 months for the initial application. Jomtien is one that comes up alot as they do it, now we know that Lamphun does it too..

take the 60 day visit family extension for 1900baht and let the funds season during that time

In Savannakhet to get a Non-O visa based on marriage you need exactly what they have listed on their website (nothing more nothing less)

If your need more time to season the 400,000 Thai baht two full months BEFORE you apply for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai...ask for the 60 day family visit extension of stay as Married to Thai.

Thanks for the suggestion, I had forgotten about that. Is there a limit on how many I can have per year? I had one on my previous extension in August.

one person entry into Thailand. So if you have used it already ...do a Land BORDER BOUNCE..same day . Gets you 45 days stamp plus one 30 Day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht

Thanks. Looks like a border bounce would indeed be a good option.

suggest you use an experienced border run service company to take you there and back in same day. Myanmar land borders are CLOSED to FOREIGNERS.
