@Steve ******
when did you do your visa run?

I spoke w the visa agent that works on the border on May 8. She said I needed to stay over night.

I read 1 report from someone who did at another Camdo - Thai border and they said the same.

Staying overnight was a very old rule that was not enforced for the past few years.

there was a rule that you need to stay overnight in Cambodia. Do you know if that is still being enforced?

There are some bogus places that will provide u w a volunteer visa and a work permit.

That is most likely the cheapest way.

I do not recommend doing that if u have to fly out and fly back into the country.

The immigration at the airport is not on their payroll and will put you on a flight back home.

It is a safe alternative if you plan on stay here the entire length of your visa.

Quatar and Lufthansa had free cancelations a few months ago. Not sure things changed.

If u are doing book and cancel always buy straight from the airline website. If u use a third party like kayak it can be more difficult to cancel

I would do it at the bank branches located at chaeng wattana (assuming your interview is also there). I am sure they will know the required document.

Normally you would go to Vientiane and get the Ed visa there and head back to Thailand on an Ed visa. Now because it is very difficult or impossible to travel to neighboring countries the easiest and closest place to go would be Sri Lanka for a visa run.

Hopefully the land borders will open soon.

Other option would be the bullshit volunteer visa, there are some places still offering. There is one major problem w this visa which is if you leave Thailand the immigration will not let you back in with this visa. So if you get the volunteer visa DO NOT travel outside Thailand. It is about the same price as the Ed visa but u don't need to go to classes
