TwTw years years ago, for 9 months, I traveled with only 5kg in one backpack. But I'm not backpacker. Lol. Tbe biggest issue is timing cold places so you don't need bring much clothing.

If you need to prove funds for interesting you need plain simple wire transfer from bank.

I'm sure transwferwise is perfect for smaller amounts. And nasty banks that do tricks or have foreign fees.
