TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the best airlines for economy class passengers regarding luggage allowance. Key mentions include Emirates, Qatar, Finnair, and Thai Airways. Emirates offers 30 kg for checked luggage on Flex tickets, Qatar generally allows 30 kg on certain fares, and Thai Airways provides a similar allowance. Finnair is noted for its reasonable fees for additional baggage. Several users suggest using Google to check up-to-date allowances as they can vary by booking.

I have just done a dummy booking on Qatar. MAN-BKk. A convenience fare you get a total of 30kg hold luggage and a classic fare you a total of 25kg of hood luggage

Qatar. Economy wise. Not sure weight requirements but I've never had to pay extra.

Finnair seems to be the cheapest for buying extra bags. 23kg as standard than only €60 for an additional

TwTw years years ago, for 9 months, I traveled with only 5kg in one backpack. But I'm not backpacker. Lol. Tbe biggest issue is timing cold places so you don't need bring much clothing.
From the EU and UK I believe Qatar only has 1 checked bag of 23kg included

Usually 2x23 of only "transatlantic" in my experience. From europe, you m it may be cheaper to upgrade class to be able to bring more, or memberships in flying programs. Paying extra for luggage can be very expensive, except in China in my experience.
