A copy of passport and visa is accepted by police as has been stated by the RTP many times.

17 years here and never been asked for any proof while out and about.

Even just a photo on your mobile is accepted at hotels.

Stop worrying.

As they say, statement and letter from Bank plus anything else they ask for. Not all offices are the same. Easy when you have all the paperwork.

Bank pass book with a transaction updated on the same say as visiting office.

Thailand needs all the visitors it can get, just have a look around and see the devastating effect on local communities the lack of tourists has had. Rich or not they all eat sleep and drink somewhere spreading the money around keeping the communities an income.

Things will not improve untill things are back to pre covid travel conditions.

Picture on phone, photocopy and send a copy to your own email as back up. Licence is usually enough though.

Go to Kasikorn bank main office in Bangkok Silom road. No issues there after trying other banks.

@Damien *******
therein lies the problem.

You must go to the Thai embassy site near you for detailsif applying from Aus. I did mine in Thailand a year ago and just renewed it in January this year.

The best way is to go through the official website.

It's not easy it's legal and safe.

Agencies tend to operate in a very grey area.

Do it here I did. Easy but you need the funds in the bank for long enough to qualify, 3 months.

I've been fleeced badly before.

you did. OK so keep your passport on you as its actually the requirement in Thailand to have it on you at all times. Not that I've ever been asked for it in 17 years however it is the rule so you can't hand it to a shop as security. 👍
