just renewed retirement visa in country and no insurance was required.

Nothing special needed for a bank account just go to a head office in Bangkok as they understand. Small banks will give you the run around.

I used Kasikorn bank after being given the run around by other banks with rubbish requirements.

Go to immigration get the retirement visa application and it will tell you everything you need.

I did mine a week ago.

Forget all the talk just get the documents and do what it says. 1900bt is all it costs to process after you have everything in place.

Well they are all open in Pattaya.
