Been on to a hotel to book a quarantine stay. They want a flight booking reference and flight number.
The embassy won't give you a flight until you submit a quarantine hotel booking confirmation.
So where do you go from there?
Seriously? I went to work for 4 weeks now 6 months away from home.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a dilemma when trying to book a quarantine hotel in Thailand, as the hotel requires a flight booking reference which the embassy will not provide until a hotel booking is confirmed. Comments suggest reaching out to the embassy for guidance on the COE process, with various users sharing their experiences and advice on getting around the bureaucratic hurdles. Additionally, the conversation touches on the frustrations of expats dealing with Thailand's complex entry requirements during the pandemic.
Surely the hotel is the one making the mistake????

Ok here’s what you do, you contact the embassy and submit all your details for a COE, they will tell you not to book a flight or ASQ at the moment, they will inform you when a repatriation flight is due and how to book, today is actually the day the flight bookings opened for the repatriation flight, then they will inform you to book ASQ and give them the information before they then give you the COE.
dont get me going on that one! All the banks said I needed a work permit to open an account but the last thing I want is a job! I did manage it in the end with the help and support if a Thai friend.
you’re correct. Problem is, some people don’t push back when the bank asks for a visa. You have to push back. My bank told me I needed a visa to open an account, but I called BS and they moved past that request. Similarly, the US Embassy didn’t want to allow me an appt to get the affidavit most banks require. I had to complain to the embassy they aren’t doing their job, then I got an appointment. Yes, I know, I could have tried different banks until I found one that would not require the affidavit from the embassy...fuck that!
go to the Krungsri headquarters with your passport and rent agreement or proof of residence or whatever. Very straight forward there. A few other banks and branches knocked me back but they are your best bet Bank of Ayudhya PCL. - Ploen Chit Branch
