I really struggle with foreign languages. Some people have the gift, I just don’t. This is a big factor for me.

NO. It’s not entering the country (immigration) that is the problem. Your airline won’t let you board the plane without proof of exit.

But give it a go. Leave a little extra time and if your airline gets sniffy walk away from check in and buy a fake ticket online for $10

Why did you bother asking this bunch of tw@ts for advice? Surely you knew their answers before posting? The reason they have run to Thailand is because they don’t have enough gumption to be anything in their own countries. Note that no one has actually answered the questions you asked.

If the daughter is being cooperative start with them signing a written statement admitting liability. Keep screenshots of online conversations in case they block you or dump their account. If it’s not progressing in your favour in a couple of days, go to the tourist police and get them to liaise with the traffic police for you.

Don’t just roll over and accept it. Losers doing that is exactly why the Thais think they can get away with it.

Vietnam is cheap. Maybe half the price of Thailand. Cambodia is a little more expensive. Loas is pretty dull.

I’m same. I’m doing Thailand then Philippines but I’m reluctant (commitment phobic) to book the onward ticket 🤣

Meh, you get used to it. Take it from a Brit that nearly always has to drive on the wrong (right) side of the road. Also we drive our right hand drive cars into Europe a lot. Obviously it’s slightly more awkward but not a significant problem. And yes I appreciate Thailand traffic, I’ve just finished three years in Vietnam. It’s even worse there.

Bottom line, he’s not bringing his truck any more anyway 🤷‍♂️😊

I’m looking at making the move from U.K. too. I find this site quite useful …
