I agree with that! I booked through cheapOair and it took 2 months to refund and they charged me $140 per ticket even though the airline cancelled the flight.
I did one last week. I brought my passport and the “appointment notification” that they had stapled in my passport. That’s it. In and out in 2 minutes.
Edit: I am on a non O for marriage. So no further paperwork required.
If you are on a retirement visa I believe you need all the bank support documents showing funds (800K baht) are still available.
I am also American and I live in Thailand now. I am in a couple of forums that beat these topics to death.
I think it’s going to be a while before you’ll be entering Thailand. They are being ultra conservative and I think rightfully so. Being engaged would probably be more indifferent to them than anything else.
Before I met my wife I was living in Hawaii. We ended up doing a fiancé visa for her to come to America. It took about three months from when I filed the first document until we landed in Honolulu together. That may be a better option for you. If you want more info feel free to DM me and I will tell you all I can.
I look forward to everyone doing literally nothing to improve their situation and then bitch about it 15 September when no mention is made of another FREE extension. 😂😂
Good information and very interesting in that we did all this through the Ubon office and no one ever asked about funds other than the day we applied. They also gave back all the photos except for one in front of the house and one inside. But that seems to be the norm. Consistently inconsistent.
I just checked my receipt again to be sure. I paid $25 on 5 January this year. But it was a single page document with one stamp. No idea if that matters or not 🤷🏻♂️
