Hi, following maybe of help to some. I have a 12 month multi entry Non Imm O Visa based on Thai wife. Visa was obtained in Sydney and expires end Jan 2021 and allows me to stay in Thailand for 3 months before needing to bounce. My current stay ended 25 May 2020 and I have been on amnesty.

Today (and Friday last week) I went to Immigration office in Lak Si to apply for a 12 months extension. Today I was given an ‘Under consideration’ stamp and need to go back in 1 month.

Some feedback on my experience:

Immigration staff were very helpful and friendly however very strict on the Visa requirements. Need originals of everything you have copied. I had 400K in bank for 2 months and had Bank confirmation letter. Bank book needs to be updated on the day of attending immigration not the day before. I need to provide another update of Bank book (not letter from Bank) to ensure 400K still in bank on the day I return for under consideration result. Thai Wedding certificate + Kr.2 (this is provided with marriage certificate) was required. They did not accept just Thai Wedding Certificate. 4 photographs of wife and I in front of/in house including Room address number was required. Needed to complete and sign 3 additional forms acknowledging over stay penalty awareness. Cost was 1,900 Baht.

In summary very thorough and very strict however staff friendly and helpful. Make sure you have ALL your required documents.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience applying for a 12-month extension of their Non Imm O Visa based on their Thai wife at the Lak Si Immigration Office. They received an 'Under consideration' stamp and were instructed to return in a month. The process was thorough, requiring original documents, updated bank statements, marriage certificates, photographs, and completion of specific forms. They found immigration staff to be helpful but strict on requirements. Other comments noted inconsistencies among different immigration offices in Thailand.

Totally common for them to request a new Kor Ror 2 <- the certificate from the Amphur that states you're still married in addition to the b/s rose bordered Kor Ror 3 you got when you were married. ;)

AND

Totally normal to get a 30 day under consideration stamp for extensions based on marriage. Just show up on the date stamped in your passport and they will ink in the other 11 months of extension.

AFTER you get the 11 month extension inked in if you want to get a re-entry permit (in case you're going to leave during the next year)

This is normal now but thanks for your experience

Problem with Thailand is that there is not a one type fits all.

Every government office does their own thing.🙄

Good information and very interesting in that we did all this through the Ubon office and no one ever asked about funds other than the day we applied. They also gave back all the photos except for one in front of the house and one inside. But that seems to be the norm. Consistently inconsistent.

Glad it went well for you!
