Hello, I am planning to apply for a DTV Workation visa from Belgium, and one of the requirements is to have 500,000 baht in a bank account for at least one month.

My question is: when I go to extend my visa for 180 days, will the immigration authorities require me to show that 500,000 baht in my bank account again? Or will the income from my freelance business count just as well?

When applying for or extending a DTV Workation visa in Thailand, you must initially demonstrate that you have 500,000 baht in a bank account for at least one month. However, during your visa extension, the immigration authorities may not require you to show the same amount, as you can also provide proof of income from your freelance business. It's advisable to have client invoices and bank statements showing the income to support your application. There is no specific minimum income requirement, but you should be able to show that you can support yourself financially while in Thailand.

Yes, invoices sent and payments incoming - best to provide your bank statements with the incoming payments highlighted. Mine was complicated because my invoices don’t equal what ends up in my bank because of my website provider charging a handling fee, so I also had to write an explanation for the difference.

I issue 8 invoices per month on average but I just highlighted and provided the highest 3, totalling around £1200 as an example.

Just how long have you been a digital nomad with your services ?

What really is your average monthly AND annual income generated by your services of clients outside of Thailand?

Do you have proof of your filing income tax returns which shows the business income?

What is your passport nation?

Where are you now?

IF you are in Thailand, which Thai visa, if any, do you now hold?

Are you age 50+ ?

Are you Married to Thai?

Are you the father of a Thai child?

Answers to these questions will be helpful for members to give you good advice.

I showed 2 years worth of tax returns and payslips.

As mentioned, no minimum income required, but I'd show as high as possible income

You also need to show your business account so they can see if you actually have income from your business activities.

Certain embassies or consulates may request proof of income to help substantiate your remote work claims. I don’t believe that they require any specific amount but if it’s a trivial amount like $20/mo they may not accept that as being sufficient.

InspiringDeer9790 I agree with Andi Traveller , I’m a youtuber so I showed membership earnings, youtube Adsense earnings and any other residual income . The key for

me was showing I can support myself with no problem here In Thailand 🇹🇭.

InspiringDeer9790 You need to show client invoices and payments on bank statement. There is no minimum income requirement but if your income is very low, show additional savings to show you can support yourself in Thailand.
