What are the rules for leaving Thailand with a DTV visa after approval?

Dec 27, 2025

I just got my DTV, I am wondering what are the rules of leaving the country.

I just got approved December 22 and I might be flying to the Philippines to meet my fiance's family for New Years. Can I leave this soon after getting my visa? How often can I leave? Is there a number of times per year that I'm allowed to leave?

Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
Once you have obtained your DTV visa, you are generally allowed to leave Thailand freely without any restrictions on how often you can exit and reenter the country. It appears you can travel soon after receiving your visa, even within a few days, as noted by another user who mentioned they had multiple entries within a year. However, if your visa is tied to specific conditions, like attending a course, ensure that you have the necessary documentation from your provider.

IF it is based on workcation, others are correct, come and go as you please.

IF you singed up for a course, make sure the course provider writes a letter why you are allowed to skip lessons.

thanks, but what's wrong with asking questions as well? Thailand immigration rules seem change all the time so I feel this FB page has the most up-to-date information.

Because lots of people, most anonymous give all kinds of advice.

It is a jungle out there and finding correct advice is difficult.
