Hey all! This is my first post so please go easy on me. 😅

My husband and I want to move to Thailand from the US with our 3 year old son for at least a year. We were considering the METV but are now thinking to get the SETV and then apply for the thai language ED visa once there. Based on what I’ve read here and online, there doesn’t seem to be a visa we can get for our son, however it seems the general consensus is that it’s not really an issue since there is not a fine for overstays for children under 13. That said, we are planning to move with pets and rent a house and have him enrolled in school so I don’t want to risk not being able to get back in to Thailand if we take a trip to explore neighboring countries. Does our plan seem reasonable? What do you think is the best/easiest way for us to spend 12 months+ in Thailand without risking being refused entry for too many visa runs?

A few years back I did an ED visa studying Thai. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to do that again after a few years ? Or if I should go for the Muay Thai visa instead.

Next year I will study in Thailand at two different institutions for a total of 18 months. I need a student visa for both of these, but from what I've found student visas only last 12 months and you can't apply for a seperate student visa while in Thailand. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get a student visa to cover 18 months across 2 schools?

I have a question regarding the cancellation policy of Non Immigrant ED Visa Extension: will I have any problems at the airport exiting Thailand if I don’t cancel my visa extension in advance? I have to leave Thailand due to personal reasons super spontaneously and don’t have the time to get the paper work. I know that if I ever plan to come back for work I will have to cancel my ED visa extension first and probably have to pay the 20k. But at the moment my biggest concern is whether they will let me exit the country with a not cancelled ED visa extension. Thank you so much

We mentioned it many times, get a visa that fits the purpose of your stay. The Visa Exempt and the tourist visa is not for long stay and to work to afford this stay.

The Non Immigrant ED visa is to sit in a classroom to study not to teach, but I understand, schools, directors, agencies and all those others does not make it easy.

The school will hand over all the documents needed to apply for a Non Immigrant ED visa and will send you to a consulate.

All the other questions has nothing to do with Thai visa advice and for that, you need Google or a travel agent.

Hello, I have finally got my Non Immigrant ED visa from Thai Embassy London. Thanks to all the admin for their help:) I want to show proof of onward travel just incase an IO asks for this at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

I will have well over 20k baht plus confirmation of hotel for the first few days until I find a condo. Plus all my paperwork that the school has advised me to have on me. My question is, do I ONLY need to book a ONE-WAY flight ( for example to LAOS/Cambodia ) or do I need a return flight back into Thailand. I will not be using this flight, it's only to satisfy immigration.

Will it not look strange that I have a visa to learn Thai language yet I am leaving on a one-way flight within the first 90 days ?? Or will a one-way flight out within the 90 days be substantial? Thanks

I am getting my Non Imm ED visa on the 21st of September however I’m flying to Bali on the 23rd of September for a family reunion.

Can I definitely get a re-entry permit on that visa?

As I have heard that you can only get a reentry permit on the extension of stay stamps

How many times can someone get a student visa before the application would get rejected?
